How sad to hear of Sir Henry Cooper's death today and at Oxted my home town. I'm not a boxing fan but did meet him briefly when he came to the office (Luis Gordon & Sons). He had won the European Championship in 1970. A presentation was given for him with cases of magnums of Celebration Cream sherry. There were some spare labels and he very kindly autographed one for me. I shall treasure it even more now.

Dear Beryl, he always came across as a true Gentlman, and that was in and out of the ring.

Such a shame he used to cut so easily, or i'm sure he would have gone even further.

Yes, I didn't follow his boxing career but he always came across as such a lovely man on the television and his public engagements. I am sure he will be very much missed.

Beryl.
