CJS Towers, bit untidy this year . . .

Unfortunately the garden is not so tidy this year, although its early days . . .

But I have more space to grow my veggies, the new runner bean bed on the right coming down the fence, plan is to extend it another 6-8ft over the summer. I did the the whole bed in a few hours recently, nearly killed me! So a couple of spit widths at a time, this time! The heap in the corner by the water-but is the upside down turfs. Its layered with compost, the plan is to put a couple of courgette plants in it . . . ?

A wasted greenhouse :? still not tidy, but here are the beginnings of my seedlings, including the courgette plants. Plenty more to go in, beans will be sown soon, held them back this year, plants get to leggy, and climbing french beans seem to prefer later germination anyway???

Put the onion set in this afternoon, amazing how many go in a small space? . . . netting to stop birds pulling them up, and what transpired to be our dog Oliver walking on the bed! Foreground left is my two empty compost heaps, its all spread on the garden beds. The square planters are also earmarked for courgettes, the old chimney pots grow herbs.

Slowly the lawn will sarcoma to my desires, couple of extra fingers are planed. Its just the effort required to dig them in the first place, I might even get a gardener to come in and dig them next year? My treat to me as a 'retirement' present :D

CJS Towers is in business once again, not got the plot size of you keen'uns, or the energy, but I look forward to this season, with some new options for me and my 'quart in a pint pot' way of doing things . . .

Evening CJS, well i think you are doing a first class job.

I don't think there are many of us that keep on top of all the jobs, all season long. But the main thing is to try and enjoy what you are doing. :)

Hope you both have a lovely and productive season.
