Hi All

I grew these for the first time this year, well I understand the first time the seed has been commercially available. The plants are great, the sprouts are not so big and do not compare in size or quantity to sprouts, I wonder if this is the conditions this year. Anyone else tried them?

Have just bought some petit posie? flower sprouts - so will be trying for first time this year. Can't stand sprouts but as I have to eat them to encourage my strange children who love them, anything that claims to be a sprout but doesn't look like one has to be worth a go...will see how we get on.

I would be surprised if no one else grew them this season from last Autumn??

Morning CoMpO, well i didn't grow them, was waiting to see what reports about them came out this year through different sourses.

There are many people who detest Brussels Sprouts. They are like Marmite you either love it or you loathe it.
What is surprising is that if the final few sprouts that are not really big enough to pick are allowed to 'blow' and grow-on right up until the flower heads are just begining to show and then pick them. The make some of the most pleasant eating and to me are quite sweet by comparison with 'Sprouts.' Always a must with me.

Hi all and Johnboy, I am not referring to sprout plants that have flowered not sprouts that have blown, this is a new

I am not referring to sprouts that either flower or have blown, these are a new hybrid, that basically look like a purple sprouting or kale plant with a stalk like brussel sprouts. The flower sprouts grow up the trunk of the plant just like brussel sprouts. The product that you pick is much like a mini open january king type cabbage. Only about an inch in size, they are then eaten steamed or stir fried etc like normal greens. They are sweeter than sprouts without that iron taste that sprouts have (or they do to me). My growing experience so far is that the fruits are very small and you need a lot to get a pan ful, but this could be the weakness of the first season or the wicked winter we have had.

I will try and take some pics tomorrow on the allotment.
