Did anybody watch the eclipse of the moon this morning? We woke up about 6.15 with the moon shining right into the bedroom (we never draw the curtains - there is no-one opposite), so we waited and sure enough, about 6.33 the first shadow appeared on the left and then slowly crept over the whole face of the moon - lovely to see. It's the clearest eclipse of the moon I have ever seen because it was such a clear sky and the moon so large.
By about 7.35 it was fully covered, reddish and with just a sort of halo showing. Then it sank into the morning mist and disappeared into the murk.
My OH thinks I should be a druid because things like solstice and eclipses mean much more to me than man-made festivities.

Dear Monika, it was cloudy here too, but as you described the event so wonderfully, i feel i have missed nothing.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
