Is there a quick way to sieve homemade compost please ?

The only way I can think of is by using a large siever, like they use on archaealogical sites. These are supported on an A frame, with fine metal wire on the bottom, with a ridge around. It is hung onto the A frame by chains.

I don't know if you can buy them or it's probably cheaper to rig one up yourself.

I can't remember where I saw this (? on the Allotment DVD?) where a chap built his own soil sieving device. The base was a rectangular wooden frame on wheels, looked like it had been a kitchen butcher block support or a barbeque, then he had a mesh screen across a smaller wooden box to put the soil through. I remeber he said he had sieved his whole plot through this! The advantage is it's at waist height, so minimal back strain, and you can just wheel it along...
