Boot size record?

Today putting wire onto the fence posts I put up yesterday meant much marching up and down on a mix of fresh dug soil, including augered clay crumb, coarse old grass stems, fresh green stuff and debris, all well rained on.
My boots each ended up three inches wider and an inch or so longer by means of the traditional plaster on the sole, missing only the horsehair & cowpats.

So I wondered what is the KG forum record for enhanced boot size?

Morning Peter, i'm not sure about the record, but it wasn't you that was pinching my runner beans many years ago, was it.
They were the biggest footprints i've ever seen, i was dreading catching whoever it was.

Hey you Guys, at least the mud was outside your boots ! I put mine on the other day not realising they had split and ended up with mud squishing up between my toes. Anyone know the best ladies wellies to buy that will actually last for a while ! They tend to be fashion items these days with a built in obsolescence ! The lining had separated too.

Hi NB
I've had my lovely green Hunters for over 10 years now and as they're as good as new.
However, they're only a size 5 so will never beat Peter, even when covered in mud.

"Nora" wellies are my favourite, NB.
Mine, which get a fair battering, tend to last 6 to 8 years. I get them from a farming shop at the local auction mart.

Hello Each. Oh how I hate my boots being clarted up with mud, grass and whatever! We always refer to it as having the deep sea divers boots syndrome. By the time I've finished working on the allotment in those mucky conditions, I'm usually a couple of inches taller and a couple of pounds heavier.
I don't like wellies for working in, they seem to make my feet and legs ache. I wear walking boots, and my feet keep lovely and warm and dry...not to mention protected from whatever I usually manage to drop on them..

Before the walking boots, I had a pair of steel toe capped safety boots but they were excruciatingly painful to wear and I had to give up on those.
Cheers.
