Had a super day over the allotment today, harvested lots of vegetables and got a good amount of jobs accomplished.

But best of all, had a good laugh with some very good friends.

Hope you all have had an equally good day, whatever you have been doing.

They forecast rain for our area today but it has been an absolutely lovely day here too, the autumn planted onions are showing a little leaf but no sign of the autumn planted peas or broad beans yet, Hoping tomorrow will be as sunny as there is still work to do before winter sets in. How are your poorly friends doing?

Thank you, OH, yes, we did. We spent all morning on the allotment: spreading manure, taking down the frosted runner beans and climbing French beans, digging up six parsnips (to take home to freeze, as suggested on this very forum!), digging, weeding, pulling up annuals and harvesting kale, sprouts and leeks to eat over the weekend. Unfortunately, unlike you, OH, we did not see another soul, but there are only eight plots and, I suppose, everybody else was busy shopping, taking children to music classes or whatever!

The autumn colour is brilliant at the moment and every glance out of the window is a joy. We have some rowan and field maple trees directly opposite and they are absolutely beautiful. I do love autumn.

Dear Nature's Babe, all i can really say is, my friends are doing as well as can be expected.

They are both being so brave, it really is quite humbling.

Glad you have had good day yourself, i'm still waiting for my onions to show, you must have a gentler touch than me.

I suspect I slept through the best weather but I did get the last six posts of the replacement allotmemt fence in. My hound was not impressed that I stuck at it despite the afternoon showers, even when we hid from them in a shed.

I couldn't get to the allotment today as I had a 120 mile round trip to Lewes to visit one of my favourite antiquarian bookshops. Started off at 6 am when it was raining, but it had stopped before we reached as far as Eastbourne on the way.
Hopefully it will be fine tomorrow as I want to get to the plot

We have filled in a pond and I am paving over it but it seems to be taking me for ever. Just the odd shower when I've almost finished pointing a section (I hate pointing) is not improving my mood. But yesterday the periods of sunshine were something special with the trees looking fantastic. I'm hoping they last as my sister is 80 on November 8th and we are planning a family day out. My other sister was 70 this year (if you look at my profile you will spot we are a bit spread out!) but lives in France so we didn't get to her party. However, she is in Norfolk for a couple of weeks so we are planning a mid-point get together at Clumber Park and possibly Sherwood Forest (well not very mid-point Lancaster, Manchester, Norfolk but the youngest gets the driving to do).

Yes it was a lovely day yesterday,so much so that I had a burst of energy,and made time to go over to the allotment for a couple of hours and clear it and dig over a patch to plant my garlic in.Good to be there,something which has,for differing reasons been awkward lately.Back to normal today,had to go into work,just as well it has been overcast with rain in the air.

Managed to get to the plot this morning, although it was a bit drizzly.
Had to spend a bit of time blocking up some tunnelling under the shed. Looks like a fox had been busy. Either that, or we have some bloody big rats
Managed to get some more clearing up of rubbish done and few other jobs.
