Ive just ha a go at putting some make-shift homes out for our little friends over the winter.

There were a number of cardboard cups at work that had been used but hadn't found a recycle bin, so Ive brought them home stuffed them with various garden litter stuck them in odd places and corners and now will hope that the little critters will use them.

Has any one else got any suggestions for recycling stuff for from the office to help out in the garden.

Well, I did manage to scrounge a few giant empty plastic bottles from water drinking fountains which have made wonderful bell cloches for early planted out courgettes and other plants once the bottoms have been sawn off, but they're very difficult to get hold of now.
And the plastic cups from vending machines make useful spare pots for planting out spare seedlings, as long as a drainage hole has been cut in the bottom.
