Next time some thief makes of with some of your produce, spare a thought for
Monsieur Cavaille
Next time you plan a day's gardening and you find yourself sitting inside watching the rain pour down, think Ryder Cup

Wales - October - Rain - the three just belong together. More rain forecast for today down south.

OMG - I'm not sure what to make of that. Half of me finds it really shocking and horrible, making me so sorry for the poor animal. The other half of me finds it quite heartwarming, firstly because the owner gave the creature a chance to live, and secondly for resisting the circus offer. But deep down, it makes me feel very uncomfortable! I'm not sure what that says about me.

There is also the wicked (sick???) side of me that is reminded of a joke about an amazing three-legged pig. The farmer is asked why his pig only has three legs. He goes on to explain all the amazing things the pig has done - it has saved the lives of most of his family at some time or another. So why does it only have three legs? Because when you have an animal like that, you don't eat it all at one go!

Hi Alan. Strewth, I'll bet the Vineyard owner is hopping mad. What a blow. Certainly puts things into perspective for me...I was annoyed because someone has helped themselves to what was left of my baking apples on our allotment.
As for the pig....Like Mouse, I have mixed feelings about that too. Not very happy that it should be like that but filled with awe that it is thriving, thanks to it's owner and other kind folks.
And the rain at the Ryder Cup? I can't understand why golf is a spectator sport ....they won't see much other than the person in fronts brolly anyway!
Cheers.

Golf is the only game which can make cricket look exciting...
Well almost.

I don't mind cricket...at least you can see what's going on. Golf on the telly just seems to be skywatching as the camera tries to follow the ball.

Certainly not! Very warm and sunny today, and more forecast well into next week
