I've just found a postcard I picked up at an agricultural show a couple of years ago and the side with the picture is a union jack made up from slices of meat, tomatoes, berries, eggs, bread, potatoes, red onions, strawberries and other fruits and veg in the appropriate colours with the slogan "Isn't it great we grow our own" across the middle.
On the reverse is the Farmer's Motto: "Live as if you'll die tomorrow; farm as if you'll live forever". - I like the sentiment.

I like that too Plumpudding, like planting trees that others in the fture will benefit from. The motto reminds me also that we are merely guardians of all productive land for future generations, and should increase its fertility, not deplete it.
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.
