Hi peeps. Have just found you, so appologies for (rambling, spelling etc).

Can anyone suggest a good cauliflower to grow? I have just started to grow them this year, and so far have managed to produce small tennis ball ones. My brocolli on the other hand (grown on the same plot) nearly had to be taken down by chainsaw!

Thanks :D

Welcome to the forum Fairweather! :)

We like All year round cauliflowers too, which we usually have great success with. I say usually because we have had poor results this year and reckon it had a lot to do with the very dry conditions in early summer. Ours were only tiny too, whereas they're usually the envy of our pal on the plot next door!
Looks like this winter will be the first for about five years, where I will have to buy cauli.
Cheers.
Happy with my lot

Hi Shallot man and Elaine,

Thanks a lot for the advice. Can you tell me when you plant/transplant etc. I think a lot of my probs may be I wated too long to plant in the ground. We live so far north here that we have to start everyting in pots first, as we are at least a month behind you in the south. :(

Never minde it makes up for not having to water like crazy (always a silver lining if you look hard enough :) ).

P.S am loving having people to ask these questions to. :D
