I have recently started growing shallots, and so far they have grown quite well. But I would like to know which you would recommend, I am looking for one that I could use in salads and such.

Hi Fair Weather 33, well doesn't it depend on your peresonal preference? Do you like a mild shallot or a more robust flavour, if its to be used in salads is colour important? Most suppliers give pretty good descriptions of what you can expect from each type, and some claim disease resistence too.
Some offer a selection and then you can pick out your preference for the following year, some store better than others. Think what you want and then go for it.

Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.
