Flies under our Enviromesh

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Since we started using Enviromesh a few years back, things seem a lot better. One thing puzzles me though - under some of our Enviromesh tunnels, there are large numbers of flies (look like normal housefly types, plus whitefly on a few brassicas in the tunnel).

I have lifted the mesh offf a few times to let the flies escape - but more seem to come back! Do these just emerge from the soil, or do I have leaks round the edges?

If they are a nuisance you could try hanging one or two of those sticky yellow fly traps in the tunnel.

Cheers everyone.

Actually I find that weeds grow quickly round the edges of these mini tunnels (water draining off the mesh?) so most flies generally escape when I get round to weeding.
