Re-seeding lawn

Mornin' all,
Back in the spring I put some moss killer (lawn sand) down, got lots of moss out after it had died, leaving the lawn looking pretty bare and bedraggled. Then came the heatwave and the whole lawn went brown. Now the lawn is coming back to life, but there are patches of dead grass, which I think were caused by my spreading the sand too thickly and not enough watering, but were hidden by the effects of the heatwave.
I plan to re-seed those patches, but how long does the effect of the "kill" (Ferrous sulphate?) last in the soil? I don't want to waste my seed & time on poisoned soil, if it's like sodium chlorate! Thanks for any advice.

I thought somebody who really knows might have replied but failing that here is my best guess. I'm not sure of the effect of excess lawn sand on grass but I don't think it is that bad. If the rest of the lawn is greening up after the rain I think that also suggests you are OK. I suppose you could aerate and then water the bad areas to flush more away then prepare as normal for sowing and get on with it.
