Senior moment!

Actually, it was more than just a moment - it took me nearly two hours this morning to realise that the reason why my eyes wouldn't focus, and I felt like I had a migraine coming on, was because I was wearing my reading glasses instead of my normal ones!

Hi The Mouse

The time to start worrying is when you do this with your glasses and then spend the rest of the day looking for them

I've done that setting off driving after looking at the map, quite scary.

Dear Bert, i have to praise you for your honestness, a lot of people wouldn't have mentioned it, for fear of ridicule. :)

Ah, OH, that's because along with the senior moments Bert gained wisdom with the years too, :D

I was driving along quite happily and the vision went from my right eye.
When I got to my daughters I said to her I have lost the vision from my right eye and she replied well it would help if you had a lens in the right side of your glasses! Found lens on floor of car and fortunately not scratched.

The world goes fuzzy when you put both contact lenses in the same eye!

Then comes the confusion - first gently prise apart and then try to figure out which lens belongs n which eye!

An elderly neighbour of ours often goes fishing. One day last year, while he was stood in the water, he sneezed.
Like you, he was terrified to find that he had lost his vision in one eye. He made it back to the car, phoned his wife in a terrible panic, but luckily, she being quite a cool-headed person, guessed (correctly :D ) right away that the lense of his glasses had fallen out.
Not an experience he wants to repeat, though - he was quite shaken by that incident!

Fortunately, most people on this forum are like you, OH - much too kind to make fun of me!

With hindsight, I made a mistake calling it a 'senior moment', didn't I?
I should have called it a 'blonde moment'!

OMG - would you believe that I've gone and done exactly the same thing again this morning?

On the plus side, it only took me about 10 minutes for the penny to drop this time, so maybe there is hope for me yet! :?

Sorry!

In my case, I'm thinking of inventing a new term for it:
A meno-moment.
