Well at least one member of the family approves
of how our council tax got used this year.

I think it could have been done with less cost, and maybe in these stringent economic times should not have been funded with public money but private, the council could have donated the land, but good to see, it is a measure of humanities spiritual development how we treat other species. lol what about a play park for the cats?

A brand new teenage play park with a zip wire and loads of stuff for primary age upwards plus a (rarity) a pair of five a side sized soccer goals laid out opposite each other. All a good five hundred yards away from the nearest houses.

It's still a lot.of money for a limited interest, I.e. Dog agility trials.

I love dogs but really as long as dog owners have places where they can walk their dogs that should be enough - if they want this sort of facility they should have to pay for it. Part of walking a dog is getting exercise yourself and this doesn't seem to give the owner much excercise

As far as I know not one single resident asked for this, at any rate no one has come forward. It appears that a playground equipment manufacturer persuaded East Herts officers to be the first ever UK council to install such equipment.

I don't think it's such a bad idea.

We have dog agility shows next to our allotments and the owners get as much exercise as the dogs as they have to run around the whole time encouraging the muts to go in the right direction etc.

If this means people AND dogs get lots of exercise, then where's the harm?
