Chemical loos

We have a chemical loo on our allotment, which we empty down the main drain in the nearby street. Since we have to put in the standard pink and blue chemicals to break down excrement etc we know that residue shouldn't therefore be emptied on site. But is it OK simply to put this down the main drain in the street? What do other allotments with similar loos do?

I think it's supposed to go into a designated disposal point.

Many moons ago when I was a boy we did not have mains sewage , it went on the dung heap with the stable and pig manure, after some months you couldn't tell the difference.

Putting chemical waste, and many other things, down a street drain is illegal, and pretty anti-social

I believe you can empty into a tank then have it emptied when full.
It definitely should not go into the waste water for recycling as some chemicals slip through the purifying process, that's why drugs should be returned to the chemist and not put down the loo.

...or perhaps you should be looking at a composting toilet - no water, no chemicals and the end product can be usefully disposed of on site
