Does anyone know the best time to take cuttings from lilac please. The bush is around 3' high and all in full flower right now. I've been given permission to take some cuttings but when is the best time to do it and where is the best place to grow them on.

Any ideas please folks?

I have never taken lilac cuttings, but the advice is take semi-ripe cuttings mid-August - there is a "moderate chance" of success.
