A new approach to GM?

I wonder if we can expect a new government line on GM now that Defra is headed by Caroline Spelman - previous role co-owner of food and biotechnology lobbying group Spelman, Cormack & Associates?

I reckon so.
There was a bit in yesterday`s Guardian about the new attitudes to GM.
A blight resistant spud was mentioned.

sadly, it would seem the answer is yes.
