Hello, I have been a bit remiss in the care of my tomatoes in my propagator and slot of them have become very tall and spindly. Is it worth planting these toms out in the greenhouse, will they bear fruit or is it not worth the bother. Many thanks in advance.

Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply. This wont help for this year but if it happens again. It depends on the size of the plant in other words how many branches it has. If it has 5 then you could take of the lower 2 and bury the stem up to the new lower branch. This makes it produce roots from the stem giving you a stronger plant. If it is a much smaller plant I would just bury the stem up to the lowest branch.
Hope this makes sence

Fairweather , I usually plant just a few for early toms and the rest later, next year try not to plant too soon for your main crop later planted sturdy plants grow better, if they are not checked, by cold and poor light levels.
