Well at least he now knows that all the neighbours who probably promised to his face that they would vote for him are liars. If he'd got 100 votes, they could all have pretended to safely include themselves amongst his supporters.

It has been said in the local newspapers letters page that here "one could pin a blue rosette on a baboon and it would be returned a councillor"!
Having seen one councillor vote yes on a motion, then turn to the chairman and ask "What did we just vote for?" I suspect the correspondent was reporting events rather than projecting satire.

NB I was not the correspondent.

Why didn't he vote for himself? One assumes he must have voted for one of the others.

It appears he pulled out of the election - must have read his own loony policies.
