Just reading in the newsletter of the Gardening Club, that in some areas they will be offering onsite plots. Might be of interest for anybody in participating areas :)
Cheers PJ.

£250 a year for a basic plot is a bit steep.

Double if you want a greenhouse and shed.

The rent for a basic plot is £5 a week, for one with a greenhouse and shed with a water butt, the rent is £10 a week.

Not exactly allotment gardening is it?

Beryl.

Looking at it from our point of view it is a bit steep, but it will depend on people's circumstances and if there is any hope of getting a plot elsewhere. To a lot of people £5 or £10 a week isn't much. If you've got something like a 10 year waiting list for a council plot, then it could well be tempting to some people.
