The gist of it was: if people know which part of the country/world you are in it helps in answering questions and giving advice. Answers will be very different if you live in N Scotland, Midlands, SW Ireland or Cornwalll (or further afield).
You can give your general location by clicking "User Control Panel" at the top left of the forum front page, then click "profile" and fill in beside location.
