rabbit deterrent

Hello,

One of my lottie neighbours has three or four rows of what I think is garlic. Around them, lying on the soil, are lots of canes - both between rows and around the edges.
Those plants haven't been touched by rabbits, even though they are eating everything else in sight (and I know from bitter experience that our allotment rabbits love garlic!).

Have any of you ever heard of this as a way of deterring rabbits?

I still don't know if that is why he put the canes there, but I can't think of any other reason why those plants are untouched, and would be interested to know if anyone else has either tried this or even heard of anyone doing it! :)

Morning Bert, an old lady in the village used to do such a thing, but i'm afraid i can no longer ask her for the reason, as she was dunked at the village pond then burnt at the stake. :D :wink:

In that case, maybe I won't try it myself, OH. :(

I'll just have to stick to plan A, instead.
Now, let me see: 'eye of newt', shouldn't be a problem; 'toe of frog', easy - no shortage of frogs around here; but does anyone know where can I get 'wool of bat' ... ? :twisted:

So I'm back on course. Tongue of dog is easy - the neighbour's dog has always made far too much noise anyway! :twisted: Adder's fork is more of a challenge, but is manageable.
Is there any chance of you finding me a Blind-worm's sting and a Howlett's wing? They are so hard to come by these days! :roll:

Blind worms are readily available, but I'm having a devil of a job finding a stinging one :( :(
