Hi everyone. Can anyone advise on the above. It's not for me it's for one of the neighbours. She's being plagued with cats so i said I would ask my gardening buddies to see if anyone has had any luck with the plants.

I have seen them advertised but can't remember where or if they work. Any advice please folks?

The problem with trying to keep cats away from your garden areas is that the area that you need to cover is too widespread. If you plant something in one part of the garden the cats will just choose a different area.

We have tried all sorts of things which work for a while but then the cats adapt. The cocoa shells used to be fairly successful but then I stopped using that because I have a regular dog visitor.

Thanks for the info GA. The area that needs doing is just a back yard, not a big area. No more than 14' square. Also, there is no chance of any dogs getting in either.

Coleus Canina (green cat shoo) also comes in a variegated form.

The coleus (scaredy cat plant) thingy didn't work for my cats. I have an aviary and planted loads all around the windows to stop the cats looking in - they just curled up amongst them and went to sleep - apart from the times they were looking in through the aviary windows

In the times they had a novel suggestion; if they have a preferred location to scrat, dig a hole and bury an inflated ballon just below the surface. Can you imagine the surprise

My next door neighbour has 9 of the little darlings, but of course none of them come into my garden... We'll see...
