On Friday I asked my son to dig out the last of the parsnips and leeks, when I went to wash them I was amazed at the lenght of one of them
30", this was grown in the ground not in a tub, the crown was only 2"
across 20" of it was like a piece of string or wool so thin, do parsnips go that deep in the ground, I sowed 2 types White gem and Palace f1 that Chantal recommened don't know which one it was.

Dear Bren, Parsnips are very long rooted vegetables, it's just normally when grown in the ground the long roots get broke off.

Quite strange that the one you had survived the digging.

I hope you peeled and used all of it. :)
