PMQ Shambles

When I was at school we were taken to sit in on a session in the Coomons and even then I was struck by the behaviour of MPs and thought how we wouldn't be allowed to act like that at school and was shocked by the wholeexperience
Listening to PMQs it seems to me that our MPs whatever party just seem to go to PMQs to behave like a set of rowdy school children.
They can't be listening to any speakers as there is a constant background hubbub of conversation, then it seems they are more concerned with hurling insults and barracking one another than having any sort of serios debate.
All parties are equally to blame - surely it's time our politicians grew up.
Sorry just needed to have a moan!

Do we need any of them, after all the power is with Brussels. I see on today's BBC, Europe will shortly have its own Embassies all over the world.

Well they are gearing up for election, perhaps you could give them all some feedback ! I also wish in general they would listen actively and respond to what we say, rather than regurgitate automatic party spiel which fails to give me a proper answer to my questions.

I don't think it is just election fever as I have seen quite a bit on PMQs and they just behave like children in a rowdy playground each time I have listened whenever it is. I would write to my MP if I thought it ever did any good but from my experience it doesn't!

Why do they shout at one even louder or do they end up fighting? Not sure that would excuse our lot though.

No, I understand they just don't have democratic government

I'm not complaining about democracy though just about democratically chosen MPS and ministers behaving like children. If a classroom discussion was conducted the way PMQs is then they would all miss playtime!

Hi Glallotments. I understand exactly the point you are making and am in complete agreement with you. In the dim distant past, when they first began broadcasting live, the goings on of parliament and PMQ in particular, I remember feeling almost stunned at the behaviour of our MP's. My first thoughts were, "These are the people who govern our country??????"
I just thought they were like unruly school children and I haven't changed my opinion. How any of them can understand what is being said, beats me, as there is a constant barrage of noise.... talking, shouting out, hoots of derision etc.
The very behaviour that was quelled in classrooms throughout the country as being unacceptable in children!!!
Cheers!

You would be if you didn't have it
There are many much worse things in life to worry about than Prime Minister's Question Time.

Never said that there wasn't! But that doesn't mean I can't have a whinge about less important things if I want to does it?
You aren't planning on standing for Parliament are you?

I wonder if any of these MP's ever watch themselves on television and feel remotely embarrassed? I doubt it very much, because if they had, their behaviour would have improved over the years. It all seems so undignified and juvenile.
It certainly opened my eyes. Until I began watching televised sessions, I had some sort of respect for our MP's, even if I didn't agree with their politics.
Yes, I realise they are only human and some of them do not act like rowdy school children but it doesn't change my opinion of the majority of them.
There may be more dreadful things in life but to see the people who run this country acting in such a demeaning manner is awful. Combined with the expenses fiddles, there is little wonder that the number of people who turn out to vote at elections, get fewer each time.
Cheers..

My main problem is, that having never missed voting, Council & General, for the last 56 yrs, I am so disillusioned, do I stay at home, or throw caution to the winds and do a protest vote with the dreaded BNP.
