National Trust endorses liquid gold

I read in the Telegraph this morning that the National Trust are now encouraging men to urinate on their compost heaps to help fertilise their gardens and save water on flushing the lavatory. Women are told that their liquid gold is less valuable because it is more acidic.
I do hope none of the local yobs round here have read this. It's one thing peeing on the heap. They might start using this to endorse their anti-social behaviour when peeing in front hedges, lifts in town centre car parks and shop doorways!

Must be why I'm making better compost since I retired, and I thought it was the extra turning!
Are duplicate posts back?

Only if you're over a certain age and have difficulty remembering what happened 24 hours ago, let alone a longer period

liquid gold. one way of putting it. I had a solitary plot once and used to do that out of convienience. I have heard that competition pot leek growers use the diluted first passing of the day to feed their charges and of one bloke who made his wife use a poe first thing in the morning as it was believed to be very rich in nutrients. how true it all is I am not sure but I,m sure others have done the same.

We had a long discussion about this several years ago, somewhat frivolous at times but lots of good stuff too

Must take my "She Wee" to the allotment - there aren't any toilets so an excuse to pee on the compost heap would be very welcome!!!
And for anyone not familiar with a She Wee - it is a little funnel thing with a spout that women can use to pee standing up, you just need to wear trousers with a bit of stretch and a baggy top (and a practice at home to perfect the technique). It is useful also for long walks when there isn't anything to hide behind, mucky toilets you don't want to sit on and those hole in the floor affairs they have abroad.

But what do you do with it afterwards? I'd not fancy putting it back in my bag having used it

Ah Chantal, It is made from a special stuff that sheds the wet and comes in a little zip up pouch.

Seedling was given one, not that I've seen it in use, so I shall investigate further.

Dear Chantal, i can't really imagine that anyone would be given one.
Maybe it would be a good Christmas present for that hard to buy for woman, i can imagine peoples faces when opened at a family gathering.
There would be all the adults just trying to ignore the thing, then a child would ask loudly "What is that thing for".

That is becasue Seedling is a lady and discreet about such matters.

This forum certainly is a mind opener
First I'd heard of the
Shewee.I was quite embarrassed
Put me in mind of the My Fair Lady song "Why can't a woman be more like a man?"
I suppose with the Shewee, now she can

You mean that women CAN actually pee standing up?? Men's last claim to a talent women lack bites the dust.
But there's less oestrogen in our produce!
