Ripening tomatoes (again!)

We've just returned from 4 days away and was pleased to find that many more of my tomatoes on trays have ripened. However, apart from the Gardeners Delight, the rest of them seem to have a very watery flavour now, despite having been indoors in a sunny position. Does anybody know whether the addition of some gentle increased heat (i.e. in an airing cupboard) would improve their flavour? Do the rest of you find that once you remove the tomatoes from the plant, the flavour often seems to go downhill?

This was my first year with tomatoes Primrose, but I did notice that the ones ripened indoors were not as lovely as the ones just picked from the plant.

Yes Primrose, they start to taste more like shop tomatoes don't they.

I usually use them cooked so it doesn't matter so much and you can boil them down a little and add a bit of sugar to improve the taste.
