Nothing to do with gardening but others might be interested in this.
Our 2003 Dyson vacuum cleaner failed last Friday. After a bit of research I found www.dyson.co.uk/service where you can book a "Full service by Dyson engineer for £63.62. A Dyson engineer will come to your home or place of work and make it work like new again for £63.62. Price includes parts and labour, and all work is covered by a free 12 month guarantee".
I booked it on Saturday and he came today (Tuesday) and changed both the filters, the motor, a hose, clutch assembly and the brushes. Gave it a look over and freed up the tilting mechanism. It seems as good as new all within that fixed price.
I think old fashioned service like that should be congratulated.

Wow, that's fantastic service from Dyson! They definitely went above and beyond for you by replacing so many parts and fixing the tilting mechanism, all for a fixed price that included labor. It's refreshing to hear about a company that stands behind their products like this, even for an older model like yours. This makes me much more likely to consider Dyson when I need a new vacuum cleaner in the future.
