Bees in compost heap

Help! I have bees nesting in my compost heap. Is there anything I can do?

What sort of bees? If they're honey bees, start a hive. Otherwise yes, leave them alone. Bumble bee colonies start to disintegrate at this time of the year. The new queen will fly off independently, to mate and then forage for a while before finding a suitable spot to hibernate. The workers will die.
