Re tomato cuttings, the few potted up produced a fair crop. I stopped the plants at the first truss, started picking them last week. Most satisfied, only problem I never put a label on them, suspect that they are Moneymaker.

I also decided to experiment with these this year after reading Johnboy's advice that it was possible and have been agreeably surprised. One tomato plant top which was snapped off by a squirrel was planted in a pot and is cropping nicely and two Moneycross sideshoots have also produced a small crop, albeit later than the main plants. Next year I'm going to experiment again with Ferline F1 blight resistant tomato sideshoots. This is the first year I've grown this variety and have been amazed by the prolific crop I've had. The plants have been so heavily laden that the stakes to which they've been fastened have been bending under the weight of fruit.

I also did this with 2 side shoots - and I shall definitely do it again! They're really strong plants, and I think possibly stronger than the original plants they came off, and they're cropping really well - looking like they will probably continue to crop way beyond when the original plants will have stopped!
