Poor old James Martin

I've been very restrained on the Forum about my favourite chef but I'm so excited I will explode if I don't tell you about where I'm going in October.
I'm going to be one of 10 people sitting in James' deli in the evening watching him do a cookery demo and then talking with him. How fab is that?!
It won't match up to actually interviewing him for KG of course, because that was the best birthday in the world, but it will be pretty good. Lyndon thinks he won't let me in on the day because he'll think I'm a stalker. As if!

Dear Tigger, i just have to say that i'm very pleased for you.
But i was just wondering how you managed to secure a place on such an occasion.
Hope you have smashing evening though.

Hope you have a good evening but can you get him to go easy on the butter and cream. Just for special occasions maybe?

Get a photo of you with him and we'll see if we can get Steve to publish that too

That's fabulous Tigger. Really pleased for you.
I remember when you interviewed him and you were one very very VERY excited Tigger.
Give him a good grope from me when you see him please

Lizzie - chance would be a good thing!
Much to Lyndon's lament, this has cost me £125, which I think is cheap as his usual rate is £15k a day. So I'm paying £125 for 2 hours. Bargain. What's a 7 hour return drive and half a days annual leave? Why is this man dripping in money?
I will get a photo and I'll try to get him to talk about his veg garden. KG and Steve look out.

Obviously you are very happy at the prospect and I hope it meets your expectations, Tigger. But I'l need to see the photo because I've absolutely no idea who you are talking about! And if you are going to give him a grope for Lizzie, not to mention yourself, of course, then why is he "poor"?

Quite right Alan - he's not. Although that one is also pretty famous for different reasons!
Mike - he's poor as in unfortunate 'cos he's got me in the audience again. He's definitely not poor financially, picking up a million a year from the BBC alone.
I'm still excited!!!

I wonder if J.M will be insuring all of his body parts again.

He would be wise to do so.

Dear Tigger, does J.M know who his audience will be that evening?

Hey Tigger
From all accounts you don't want anyone bringing up cars in conversation so I would arive early and talk to the other guest in advance. Anyone with a car appreciation lock them in the loo or you won't get a word in about our favourite subject.
I went to his deli a few years back (quite small) and he was there but I had the hubby with me so had to be a bit cool and not grope the man but was tempting. He just charged a fortune for some bits I bought and I went out feeling like a proper foodie but I expect some of the stuff is still lurking around somewhere in the larder
Have a great time - deeply envious

I must admit that I am a little envious of Tiggers trip too.
However.....I don't think i'd be interested in the food or the boutique that he has (both of which are seriously expensive)
I would want a good grope of the man ( Yes, I know, I am a complete and utter tart and proud of it) and I would also like a ride in a few of the cars and go pillion on the back of his Ducatti......
Now THAT would be a fab day out for me with Mr Martin. And I wouldn't even take Big Andrew with me
