probably because you have to give your details to the government. they're notorious for losing sensitive personal info.

They only ask for an address and email address because they need to verify that you are a real person living in the UK or anyone could sign up as 500 different people. Your address must be on government records in thousands of different places. I think a lot more information about us is collected in a much less up front way!

I think that the list is begining to take off at last. I have just checked and it now stands at 505 which means around 200 signatures in 12 hours.
If that keeps up it will certainly raise some awareness.
