Listening to the news yesterday morning on Radio 4 I was surprised to hear that "the head of the FSA thinks that attacks on banks would be a good idea". How disappointed I was much later to rehear this as "a tax on banks".

The first was the best idea, unless they are going to tax the banks at every twist and turn as they do us, we could have an investment tax, a bonus tax a general tax a managerial staff tax, a bank buildings tax, a cash machine tax...etc...etc...
Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.
