Listening to the news yesterday morning on Radio 4 I was surprised to hear that "the head of the FSA thinks that attacks on banks would be a good idea". How disappointed I was much later to rehear this as "a tax on banks". :(

The first was the best idea, unless they are going to tax the banks at every twist and turn as they do us, we could have an investment tax, a bonus tax a general tax a managerial staff tax, a bank buildings tax, a cash machine tax...etc...etc...
