Can anyone tell me if the EU directives regarding pesticides have had effect on household fly killer aerosols? I recently bought a new aerosol of my usually very effective brand, only to find I would have more chance killing the housefly with it, if I chucked the can at it. I scored a "direct hit" with the spray and then the ruddy fly flew through the mist several times, before carrying on it's merry way! It was still whizzing around the room an hour later.

I gave it at least four more "blasts" before it finally succumbed.....I'm presuming it drowned!
The can states, "Kills flying insects in seconds". Can I claim under the Trade Description Act ?
The spray contains Tetramethrin and d-Phenothrin. I wish I had taken note of what it contained on the last can I had, to compare.
I think I might invest in a good old fly swatter!
Cheers.
