Wind damage

So when did we move to southern France.

Is this the Mistral or the Tramontane?

The winds have flattened half of our cardoons - actually flattened and to make matters worse flattened then on to some young cauliflower plants.

Most things are now listing to the east!! We did a bit of damage limitation and came home - fed up!!!!

It's been windy here too and the wind force steps up a notch when accompanied by the many heavy showers we've been having since Tuesday. The wind and rain have knocked alot of flowers off the runner beans but no other damage as yet.

I knew the weather would turn....I'm on holiday for two weeks now!

Hi to you both
Had very heavy rain and gale force winds here too. My turnip and swede tops are squashed as flat as helecopter rotor blades, and my runner beans have struggled a bit already without this extra blast of cold wet unsettled weather. Sadly the tallest sunflower (which I had grown for the birds) has snapped off too.
If that wasn't enough, one of my dogs has eaten through the lower parts of the stalks of my mini pumpkins, severing any connection to the roots and distributed what was left across the lawn, then had the nerve to look sheepish when I shouted "who's done this!" plus a few other choice phrases. :evil:

hmmm part of the trials and tribulations of gardening - I wonder why I still refer to it as a hobby?

Actually, all said and done gardening helps to keep me 'sane' and I don't know where I would be without being able to connect with nature.

P.s. Elaine I hope you enjoy your holiday despite the weather, and hey, who knows, there may be a few bright sunny days as well to bring a little more cheer to your fortnight

OH, despite being neither Northern nor a Lady,I can confirm that we are also experiencing severe wind problems "Down South". :wink:
