Good morning from Essex.

Variety: All Green Bush, from Mr. Fothergill's.

Lots of large leaf, fruit growing nicely with good flowers.

Problem; fruit grows to about 4inches then stops completely this has been the position for about 7 days so I think there must be something going on.

They have been fed with proprietary feed to the recommended dosage.

Any observations would be appreciated.

Thanks, Boxer

Dear Boxer, if they are the first courgettes on the plant to be forming, they often do this, cut them off and the ones that follow should be fine.

Hi Boxer

Probably not pollinated. Do a forum search for courgette pollination and you should see some answers.

Hello Boxer
As the others have said its probably lack of pollination or an immature plant not yet ready to support fully grown fruits.
I always grow 'Parthenon' which produces excellent fruits without the need for pollination and the plants mature quickly.

Thank you all for your replies.

Going down the route of cutting off the small ones.

I will keep you posted.

Cheers, Boxer

Boxer

Are there male and female flowers on the plants?

HI - I had the same problem and cut all the smaller ones off about 10 days ago , all going well now with new fruits reforming and lots of flowers so fingers crossed.

Hi Boxer. I'm growing the same variety and this happened with mine too. The first fruits withered and were removed. This week, I picked the first two good fruits.( of many, I suspect!)
