That's brilliant. My friend, who, at the time was in her late seventies, has a wonderful sense of humour but was getting very annoyed at the tele marketing calls she was receiving. One evening, she had a double glazing firm on the line and she strung the guy along asking alsorts of questions for ages. He was well chuffed to think he had hooked a customer and started trying to make arrangements for their rep to call on her. Finally, my friend interrupted him and asked if the window fitters had good long ladders. There was a puzzled silence and the question "Why?".
My dear friend said, "Because I live in a high rise block of flats and I'm on the 13th floor". There was a long silence and then he quietly said goodbye while my pal laughed her socks off!!
On the same note, join the Telephone Preference Service and you won't get the calls at all.
