I do so hate these petty jobsworths. We have too many of these useless types who are funded by our Council Tax and I'm heartened that the British public are starting to fight back and put them in their place - which ought to be in the dole queue.
Anybody who knows the slightest thing about allotments ought to know that flowers play a rightful place in the growing of fruit and vegetables, by attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
Where on earth do these individuals get their basic education?

It really does look nice and very well tended. But, where do you draw the line. If allotments are for growing veg, and many sites have very long waiting lists, you can see the other side of it. Would there have been the same outcry if it had been a middle aged fat bloke on the plot?

Well, there should be.

I 'm not sure there is a line to be drawn; allotments are for growing - very few would choose to grow flowers alone, so in my view, those that choose to should be left in peace to get on with how they choose to run their plots. The flowers themselves play many roles too.
