Good morning from Essex

Need your help again.

I moved my (summer flowering) raspbeery canes (dug up and split 10 of the best) from my allotment autumn last year and planted them in the garden.

I have some fruit, but didn't expect too much this summer because of the move.

The problem sems to be that no new canes have appeared at the root which I expected.

Is this normal, and do you think that this crop could be the last. The original canes are at best 5 years old.

I wouldn't worry too much, just leave them in situ, water and manure and wait for spring when I am sure there will be new runners, they are just finding their feet at the moment. But I would definitely cut down the old brown woody canes in the spring if new growth appears.
