Hi all, just thought you might like to see this strawberry we picked last week. It weighed 2 ounces and that's a 50p piece along side

That is certainly a supersize berry photo  ....

We get some massive fruit at home here on the first few pickings from our Tamella variety..
Just sometimes though they are hollow...and contain a woodlouse

Meanwhile, at work we have had some massive Grey Squirrels.. :(

Clive.

Purchased "MARSHMELLOW" strawberry plants from Marshalls early last year, a few strawberries in first season. Then Ihappend to visit the next site to us, witnessed an Eastern European plot holder pruning his strawberries with a rotary mower, looked at him in amazement,he assured me that this was the best way to increase yield, oh well in for a penny in for a pound, out came the rotary mower, blades set on the high side [I was starting to have second thoughts] and away we went. This year the finest strawberries I have ever grown Mind you it could be the weather. :? :?

Thankyou very much KG Admin and Clive, for re-sizing my photo! I don't seem to be able to do that on my laptop. The first photo I posted, of my rainbow shed, was taken using my mobile phone and the strawberry with my camera. I guess this has alot to do with it. I'll be afraid to try posting a pic again...what a numpty!! Incidentally, the strawberry wasn't hollow and it was delicious. (it has had my name on it for ages....) There are several large fruits on the plants but none as big as the 2oz one! Thanks again for the re-size, much appreciated..you're a bunch of lovely people on here and I'm so glad I joined!! :D Cheers.
