Well ive done it,and without any training, well i did run around the park 2 days before the event  Next year i will defo be training for the race.
Very sore legs today  But the lungs managed fine as i have not smoked since 11th march :D
If any of you ladies out there have not done this race,i recomend that you do.I had a fab day ,but also very emotional, reading the messages on the backs of people is very sad, some of them have lost whole families to cancer, the tears flowed freely as i ran. There was one little girl about 4 or 5 who ran for herself, the brave little thing had cancer as well.
Managed to do the race in 41 mins 39sec,but best of all i have raised nearly £200 towards cancer reserch :D :D :D and that feels good.
So why not get a pink tu-tu,some pink leg warmers , your running shoes, and enroll in a race in your area

Dear Grockie, to put it into simple terms, you're simply a star.

Well done, Grockie, for doing the race in a very respectable time and for raising so much money! I have done it three times, including with two daughters and two granddaughters, and the atmosphere is always brilliant. Having run/walked it in two different locations (Broughton Hall near Skipton, and the Great Yorkshire Showground at Harrogate), I wish the organisers would provide more loos! The queues before the race were miles long and there were no loos until you got to the end again which, after drinking lots of water, as advised, doesn't make for a comfortable trip.

Very well done Grockie :D
It is often so humbling when you hear of others' triumphs over great adversity and also raises feelings of compassion for those who are suffering and for those who have lost loved ones.
Finding the willpower to refrain from smoking is something else to be proud of too. Good for You! :P :D
