The watertrough was very low and one of our allotmenteers found about 20-30 leeches clinging to her can. As far as I can find out they are not really a problem but does anyone know how they get in the tank in the first place?

We have leeches in our pond. As we started it from new, I assume they were brought in by wild ducks....

We have Leeches in the ground here and the last time I put my hand down the stopcock hole my hand came out with 5 Leeches stuck to the back of my hand. I would not put my hand down there again and very soon made a steel stopcock key! I suspect that they need very little water to survive.

Hey, Johnboy, maybe you could breed leeches for blood letting? I believe they are used again in hospitals.

And perhaps I couldn't!
