Curling leaf on blackcurrants

My husband has just popped in, thrust a Hessayon fruit book at me and said 'Find out what I need for curling leaf on my blackcurrants' and disappeared off to the allotment. I assume he's looked underneath the leaves but can't be sure. I can't find any mention of curling leaves either in Hessayon or on another gardening site I looked at. Any one any ideas please?

I have a similar problem on one of my two redcurrant bushes, where the leaves are curling and looking very blistered. A close inspection has revealed lots of slightly sticky mites on the underside of the leaves. As this problem only seems to be appearing on the topmost newest shoots, unless anybody can advise me that it will adversely affect the bush I'm going to snip off the affected leaves and put them in the dustbin. I don't want to spray as the bush is covered with expanding fruits, unless a soapy water spray would kill them off. The bush was affected in the same way last year yet the adjacent (almost touching blackcurrant and redcurrant bushes were unaffected although I assume this problem is capable of spreading rapidly from bush to bush).

He's just come back with a leaf and it is aphids so that solves that problem!
