Onions Flowering!

I can't beleive it - my overwintering onions are already
getting flowerheads. I nip them off but it is a pain as
they really don't store very well when they flower. It
is mainly the red onions but noticed a couple on my
shallots as well.

I know I am pretty far south but not that temperate!
Looks like I will be harvesting early and running out of
stored onions early this year.

My autumn ones are throwing up seed heads too and the foxes have desimated my spring sown ones. I have some spare sets left and taken a chance and planted them and hope it is not to late to get at least some sort of a crop this year.
