As i only have a small propagator that holds 6 standard seed trays and this time of yar i need to sow many varieties of flowers and veg plants this is what i do. Cut off the bottom of a 4pint milk bottle to a depth of 1 1/2 inches with scissors or a Stanley knife and make some holes in the base. This makes addmittedly a smaller seed tray but you can fit many more in the propagator or to put on the windowsill.
If you cut them off to a depth of 3or4 inches they make useful containers for all the odds and ends in the greenhouse and easily stack one inside the other to save space.

There exists a quarter-size seedtray from Ward which is usefully deep. Some of mine are almost identical but were made by Humex, Byfleet. I get up to 5x10 tomato seeds in them.
Margarine tubs are similar shape.
You can cut up scrap glass for the covers.

The blister packs that tesco and the like use for items in their instore bakery come in some very useful shapes and sizes. All with clear lids too.
