Am I right in thinking cucumbers should not be grown in the same glasshouse as tomatoes? If so, why??

Cucumbers and tomatoes need slightly different conditions. I'm not certain about the details as I have never been bothered to find out - probably something to do with cucumbers needing higher humidity. I suspect all replies will be the same as mine - I always grow and always have grown tomatoes and cucumbers together - unless we hear from someone with two greenhouses/tunnels.

ditto to alan, we've always grown both together as we don't have the luxury of two greenhouses,i've heard the same "do not grow...." warnings but hey live dangerously

I do the same as Alan but put the cucmbers away from the door but no idea why  my Father used to put a polythene wall around his cue but thats going back a long time nearly 30 years since we lost him and the plants are better now esp all female varieties

I grow them in the same tunnel but I put the cucumbers by the door and I always keep a couple of buckets of water by them to help the humidity. I do have two tunnels (very greedy :P ) but I vines in the other one to provide shade, so I grow peppers, chillies and melons in that one.

Thanks guys, I planted the cucumber seeds yesterday and wondered where they were going to go. I grew two miniature cucumber plants in with the toms last year, and nothing terrible happened, so I guess they will be OK. :D
