Hi
Lucky me too - took some last week (just enough for a taster)
but this week took over 30 spears. I do pamper my asparagus
as I feel what I save by growing my own very nearly pays for
everything else over the year. (Can you believe the price of
bought spears!)
They are 6 yrs old now so well established and get fed well.
However my new Pacific Purple which is in its 2nd year has
not thought about showing yet despite the same TLC.

Tracie
Sorry to hear about your tools. We have had
activity on the plot as well but weirdly only took
our primus and my big bag of seeds. (really miffed about
seeds as had all my friends pick stuff up on hols and
had some unusual things to experiment with). We
are suspecting someone on the plot as people have
had a single rake or a trowel taken so not really
stretching themselves for the car boot sale.
You are going to have to grow a lot of asparagus to
re-coup the cost of wolf tools though!!

Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I also picked my first four spears on sunday I would have had six but last week my dear little 2yr old grandson ran over my asparagus breaking 2 emerging spears, so I had to put a little fence round the bed to deter him from doing it again.
