winter lettuce

Is it still possible to grow winter lettuce ? I have a packet of unopened Suttons Vaila Winter gem. It says use by June 09.

Keep the packet unopened and sow them for next winter - they will be perfectly OK.
Winter lettuce do not grow well in summer conditions.
